I’m currently … old and counting.

I live in the Chicago suburbs with my wife Abby and four-year-old son Miles. Last month, we welcomed our second son Finn, who turns four weeks old today. I’m focused on my paternity leave and trying to soak up these moments with a newborn.

Work

I work as Senior Director of Software Engineering for the Ordering group at McDonald’s, where I get to work on interesting product and technology challenges that few other companies have. These include:

• Launching a new version of the McDonald’s app, which leverages SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, and an all-new event-driven digital commerce platform. (We launched in the US last week!)
• Expanding digital payments and delivery service capabilities to more international markets. The common commerce stack is now available in more than 40 countries, serving hundreds of millions of customers.
• Productizing an LLM–enabled conversational commerce capability for order-taking in the drive-thru, reinventing a defining McDonald’s customer experience.
