Barack Obama

Hey everyone. This is the first major post in quite a while, so I’ll make it a good one. As regular readers will probably have noticed, I’ve been a quiet supporter of Barack Obama since the 2008 Presidential campaign began several months ago. Since he will very soon overtake Hillary Clinton and all but cinch the Democratic nomination, I’d like to offer some of my opinions and reasons for supporting him this far.

First of all, it’s pretty evident that I agree with him on just about every one of the main issues. While we differ on a couple things, he’s the best candidate to represent my liberalism in the White House, and therefore it’s easy for me to support him. But one of my favorite things about Obama as a presidential hopeful isn’t even his opinions, it’s his behavior.

Throughout his campaign, he’s stressed his commitment to reforming the way campaigns in America are run, and he’s shown this commitment through the handling of his own campaign. Obama has steered clear of smear propaganda, and instead actually tells the American public his plans of action. He’s still the only candidate with any clear and achievable hopes for the future of America, and his competitors are reduced to attacking his experience. He has the same amount of experience as you, Hillary!

Mrs. Clinton tries to tout her years as First Lady as essential leadership experience. Who does she think elected her to that high office? Her husband was the politician, and the only project she was given tanked and provided her with lots of baggage for this 2008 campaign.

The question, rather than being “who would make the better Democratic candidate?” has become “when will Hillary wake up and stop being so selfish?” She’s dividing the party by continuing her little crusade, and she’s consciously ruining any chances of a united Democratic party by November. So, I implore you, Hillary, give up already.
